I have known both Joel & Nickisha for many years, but from completely different friend circles. Both have hearts of gold and would give the shirt off their backs to help someone in need. I'm excited to feature their engagement because when they started dating, it was a huge celebration to see two of the kindest people come together. Both waited long and hard for the right one, and when they got together anyone who knew them thought "these two are such a perfect fit"; they complement each other in all the right kinds of ways.

For their shoot, Joel & Nickisha wanted a location that wasn't the normal Barrie downtown or a forest trail, and so this specific spot was perfect as it gave them a lot of variety of images. This has since become one of my favorite Collingwood locations because of this engagement session.

From the Couple:

How did you meet?: We met at a Christian young adults group run out of Georgian College. We interacted on a few occasions but nothing really came of it.

How did you fall in love?: Eventually, I (Nickisha) began attending the young adults’ group that Joel was on the leadership team for. Our friend group began to merge and we as a result spent more time together. One day it all sort of clicked and I realized I wanted to be more than just friends. On a coffee date in fall 2016 I shared how I felt and the rest is history.

What's your favourite thing about them?: Each other’s heart and the care we have for people.

When/where did they propose?: Joel proposed on May 19th, 2018 in Niagara falls at the botanical gardens.
